Our rebellious efforts to leave and live outside of society have given us a great opportunity, but also can take a disastrous toll on us. Our energies have been diverted into addictions, unrealistic ventures, even farfetched movements . This results into crisis. We may find ourselves hospitalised, institutionalised, in rehab, in the extreme emotional chaos labeled as insanity, or even in prison. This may seem only negative, but actually this growth-induced crisis arose not to break our rebellious spirit but instead to give us an opportunity to transform our lives. </span><div> <span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div> <div> <span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"> In the best case, we use this as a wake-up call, a chance to reevaluate our lives to do better, find meaning, and go deeper. This growth depends on recognising that in recognising our old coping strategies—in getting lost in our only old choices and reckless dissociated behaviour—we took a more courageous stand than in than giving up and dying in the recovery norm . If we are fortunate we respect these corrective forces of life and can begin to sort out our traumas—and grow.</span><br /> The Ten Stages is a studied recovery course.
