This type of thinking can continue to plague us in recovery and lead to problems such as:<br /><br />* We go off track in our recovery, but we create justifications for this. This can mean that we develop new forms of escapism.<br />* We can be heading towards a relapse, but dissociation means that we are able to ignore the warning signs.<br />* We are living a life in recovery that is far from ideal. This is a shame because there are so many wonderful possibilities in recovery.<br />* We with dissociation are at risk from going from one type of maladaptive behaviour to another. We are be able to invent all types of beliefs to justify this new dangerous escapist obsession – just like we did with the old one.</span>
