Getting to know the symbols of our own unconscious

“Dreams are the royal road to the unconscious.” If we want to know what’s going on down there in the basement of our mind , we need look no further than our dreams. The only problem with understanding our dreams is that they express our deepest truth entirely in code – through metaphor. Everything in a dream has meaning, and the hard work of decoding the symbols of our dreams – that is, getting to know the symbols of our own unconscious – will bring us right in touch with the depths of who we are, and what our unconscious conflicts really are. This is tough work, and often humbling and ugly, but if we can hang with it, the rewards will be well worth the effort!
